Comprehensive Medical Rehabilitation

Physical Therapy: Physical Therapy provides physical restoratin to those disabled by accident or disease. After an extensive evaluation, a treatment program is designed according to the resident's needs. Such programs may involve exercise, gait training, whirlpool, heat, ultrasound and massage treatments.

Occupational Therapy: Occupational Therapy is a medical service prescribed to assess and retrain the activities of daily living.

Restorative Nursing: The nursing staff, as part of the rehabilitation team, assists in the evaluation to achieve maximum independence. This is accomplished by resident care, physical restoration, teaching, self-help, and adjunctive rehabilitation activities. Regularly scheduled planning conferences review the resident's individual problems and set realistic goals to be achieved.

Speech Pathology and Audiology: Speech pathologists, specialists in communication skills, conduct tests to determine a resident's speech, language, swallowing and reading disabilities. Once a resident is assessed, an individual program is developed to achieve functional communication between the resident and others. Audiological tests determine the severity of hearing loss, while the service designs programs to improve or restore the resident's hearing loss.

Social Services: Our Social Services Department participates in all aspects of resident care from pre-admission planning through discharge arrangements and provides counseling to both the resident and family to help them understand and accept the disability and the need for placement.

Medication: Our professional staff manages our medication delivery system including; ordering, storing, and administering medications at prescribed times. In addition, our professional nursing staff in conjunction with our medical director and pharmacist, routinely provide medication monitoring to assure that the maximum benefit is being derived from each medication while reducing drug reaction.
